| Board of DirectorsThe Board of Directors has a legal and ethical responsibility to act responsibly and prudently as the steward of the organization. This includes interpreting the organization's work and values to the community, representing the organization, and acting as a spokesperson. In turn, the Board interprets the communities' needs and values to the organization, speaks out for their interests, and on their behalf and holds the organization accountable. The Board is composed of a diverse group of individuals with a wide range of experience and expertise and are committed to transparency and accountability. | Dr. Tamara Allen-ThomasBoard Unanimously Approved First African-American Superintendent of Schools at Clairton City School District “I believe that I am on this earth to build leaders. Part of building leaders is being able to make sure your voice is heard. When you’re talking about coming from a place that may seem like there’s no way out or you feel like you can’t learn, you must be able to have a voice and say what it is you need. We must realize that learning is relevant to what our students are experiencing in life. We must build relationships through concepts that students can relate to. When you reach kids where they are, you can bring them in.” Dr. Tamara Allen-Thomas |
